Chateau Caribbean is an independent editorial magazine dedicated to the islands, coastlines, and cultures of the Caribbean. We write for travellers who want more than a resort brochure — people who are curious about the history behind the architecture, the story inside the rum glass, and the communities that make each island distinct.

What We Cover

Our editorial focus spans five areas: island life, coastal travel, Caribbean culture, food and drink, and accommodation. We publish long-form articles, practical guides, and cultural essays that go beyond surface-level tourism content. Every piece is researched with care and written with the kind of detail that rewards close reading.

Who We Are

Chateau Caribbean was founded by J. Thornton, a writer and editor with over a decade of experience covering travel across the Caribbean and wider tropical world. Our contributors include journalists, photographers, and cultural commentators based across the region.

Our Approach

We believe travel writing should inform, not just inspire. Beautiful photography matters, but so does honest reporting about the challenges facing Caribbean communities — from climate change and reef degradation to the economic complexities of tourism-dependent economies. We aim to present the Caribbean as it is: beautiful, complex, and worthy of thoughtful engagement.
